Dua Lipa channels her best Zendaya in this chaotic, Challengers-themed Saturday Night Live sketch
Pop star Dua Lipa appeared as the musical guest on last weekend's Saturday Night Live, and the "Illusion" singer put her acting chops to work on a sketch parodying the hit film Challengers.
Lipa invites a potential love interest (Marcello Hernàndez) over to her apartment where he's shocked to see her full-sized wall of Sonny Angel collectible dolls (naked plastic creatures with fruit-themed hats on their heads and round bellies). Then one doll, played by Bowen Yang, begins talking and the music from Challengers starts to play.
"The score is stressful, but horny too," smiles the Yang's Sonny Angel.
"I haven't seen the movie,"a very confused Hernàndez responds.
Lipa, who's bob and outfit resemble Zendaya's in the movie, clearly wants to hook up with both of the men(?) and moves the Sunny Angel doll to the couch so they can chat more intimately before heading to the kitchen for a snack. The two quote Art Donaldson and Patrick Zveig's banter as they discuss if the Lipa has slept with the doll, then she returns.
"Okay I'm back with churros, the most penis dessert. I sure hope it doesn't make you two act... bicurious."
Now that's what we call comedy!
Without giving the entire sketch away, Yang (as the doll) gets a giant churro shoved in his face, and Lipa ultimately gets her way...
Watch the sketch in the video above. And catch Challengers, now playing in theaters.
