The third season of Euphoria is looking pretty good for a dead b*tch.

Euphoria is back from the dead.

The HBO series is currently filming season 3, according to an update from the show's Instagram account in a joint post with HBO and Max.

The Monday post showed a Euphoria still of Zendaya, who portrays the troubled queer teen Rue, along with this caption:

"Euphoria Season 3 is in production."

The Hollywood Reporter noted that the Emmy Award-winning show reportedly started filming in January 2025, so this particular image of Zendaya was probably taken within the last six weeks.

For context, the iconic season 2 finale of Euphoria aired in August 2022. Production on season 3 is just beginning almost two and a half years later. Zendaya, alongside stars Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, and Colman Domingo, are set to return to the show. Sadly, Storm Reid has already announced her departure from the series.

It's also unclear how Euphoria will address the death of star Angus Cloud. The actor played the beloved character Fez on the show and died suddenly in July 2023.

Last summer, Variety reported that there were creative differences over the script between Zendaya and Euphoria creator Sam Levinson. "While Sam Levinson's early scripts went over well with HBO, allegedly Zendaya was not overjoyed with where the show was going," Out reported at the time. "Sam Levinson wrote the third season with a five-year time jump and made Rue Bennett a private detective. Sources said Zendaya countered that storyline with one where Rue was a sober surrogate. Apparently, HBO didn't like that very much, either."

In October 2024, Zendaya revealed that Euphoria season 3 would feature a time jump, effectively pushing the show's teenage characters out of high school. On the other hand, initial scripts for the new season reportedly underwent a few changes, so there are no guarantee that the time jump storyline was maintained.

Filming has just begun, though it's unclear when the season will actually air. There are many loose ends that fans would love to see tied up, so it'll be interesting to see how the show will pick up where it left off. After all these years, will we finally find out what Rue did with that damn suitcase? Stay tuned!

HBO's Euphoria is streaming on Max.
