The brand-new gay dating showI Kissed a Boy is almost here!

10 contestants are entering the I Kissed a Boy villa looking to fall in love from their very first kiss. This cast of queer men consists of Ben (28), Bobski (23), Gareth (28), Jake (27), Joseph (23), Josh (24), Kailum (25), Ollie (27), Ross (27), and Subomi (29).

In a new trailer, host Dannii Minogue opened up about the importance of having a show like I Kissed a Boy on television:

I Kissed a Boy is so important as the first UK gay dating show, because there has to be something for everyone. Everybody wants to be seen on TV in real relationships. It’s not about bodies, and image, and TV time, and 15 minutes of fame. It’s about people who want to look someone in the eye and explore something that could go somewhere as a relationship.

If you’re a fan of Love Island, then the format of I Kissed a Boy will feel somewhat familiar. A release has described the new series as follows:

“Dannii Minogue will be on hand to help the boys find love and oversee a series of Kiss-Offs, where each pair will decide whether to stay in their current partnership – or save their kiss for another boy. And with every participant an option, there’s sure to be plenty of dating drama.”

With such few LGBTQ+ dating shows out there, reality TV fans are very excited to watch I Kissed a Boy once it premieres!

I Kissed a Boy premieres May 14 on the BBC.
