Interview with the Vampire, the beloved AMC series with a super queer, bloodthirsty following, is now headed to Netflix.

The news was announced on Tuesday. According to Variety, the TV network and the streaming service inked a deal that "will put prior seasons of 13 AMC series on Netflix for one year" including Interview with the Vampire, Fear the Walking Dead, Preacher, and more. Variety notes that while AMC's streaming service, AMC+ (which IWTV is currently available on), only has 11.5 million paying subscribers, Netflix has 269.6 million. AMC hopes to tap into that huge audience by temporarily moving its shows over.

Based on the 1976 Anne Rice novel of the same title, the series, starring Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid, has been modernized by placing Louis and Lestat in 20th-century New Orleans as well as taking the queer subtext of the original and elevating it into the gayest show on television.

Showrunner Rolin Jones described the show's ethos to Out in an interview earlier this year.

"What we’re really interested in is this restraint and enduring because if that’s what you have to do every night, the fact that they can sit down and have a cigarette and ask, ‘How are you doing?’ I think it’s remarkable and heroic that they are constantly trying to normalize their very weird, violent, destructive lives."

Despite its current streaming numbers, Interview with the Vampire has a feverous online following and widespread critical acclaim. The show just wrapped an explosive second season and has already been approved for a third. The news of the show coming to an insanely popular streaming service like Netflix means that its finally going to get the huge audience it deserves!

Interview with the Vampire hits Netflix on August 19.
