The official synopsis of the series reads:

“Mary & George is an audacious historical psychodrama starring Academy Award-winner Julianne Moore (Still Alice) and Nicholas Galitzine (Red, White & Royal Blue), about a treacherous mother and son who schemed, seduced, and killed to conquer the Court of England and the bed of King James I. Based on a scandalous true story, the seven-part limited series is coming to Starz in 2024.”

Besides Galitzine and Moore in the leading roles, Mary & George also features Tony Curran as James VI and I, Samuel Blenkin as Charles I, Laurie Davidson as Robert Carr, Nicola Walker as Elizabeth Hatton, Sean Gilder as Sir Thomas Compton, Niamh Algar as Sandie, Trine Dyrholm as Queen Anne, Adrian Rawlins as Sir Edward Coke, and Mark O'Halloran as Sir Francis Bacon, among others.
