Kooks beware, because the Pogues are SO back!
The fourth season of Outer Banks, one of Netflix's most popular teen drama/adventure series, has officially returned to our screens, and there's so much going this round that it had to be split into two parts!
Ahead of the drop of Part 1, Out got the chance to sit down with the entire main cast of the show — including Queer star Drew Starkey, Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Carlacia Grant, Rudy Pankow, and Jonathan Daviss — to talk about the series' themes of found family and healthy, non-toxic portrayals of male friendship (some of the things fans love most about the world of Outer Banks!
"The true reality of two young boys trying to figure out who they are in the world and holding each other accountable in ways that we do in real life and found family," Chase Stokes, who plays series lead John B, tells Out when asked about what he enjoys showcasing most on Outer Banks. "That's such an important thing and it's so prevalent in today's day and age. Sometimes the people that we are born with by blood are not necessarily the people we're closest with. And to be able to portray that and to do it with Rudy over the past five years has been so fun. I do think that there's a version of you and I bitching at each other from time to time, but also the level of love that we have for one another also shines through. So it's been one of my favorite components of this show to portray."
We also had some fun with the OBX crew and asked what responsible and irresponsible things they would purchase if they struck gold (like they did in previous seasons) and what place on Earth they consider their own "Poguelandia," i.e. their perfect place to escape from the stresses of real life (not the deserted island from the series, though with a friend group like theirs, that still seems fun too).
"Irresponsible thing, a boat," out, pansexual actress Madison Bailey, who plays Kiara, says about her fantasy gold purchases. "I don't know how to take care of a boat. I wouldn't know how to own a boat, but I think I'd just buy one naturally. And responsible thing, a property. I'd probably just invest in property."
"Greece has become my Poguelandia," Carlacia Grant, who plays Cleo, said of her perfect escape. "I'm obsessed with it. I've been there multiple times and I'm just obsessed with Greece. Mykonos is amazing and it's one of my best places to go and just relax. Chill on the beach, eat great food."
