Get ready for a history-making season of The Real Housewives of New York!
In an exclusive first look, new housewife Racquel Chevremont sits down with Jenna Lyons for a heart-to-heart conversation where they bond over shared experiences of going through divorces and subsequently coming out. Not only is this the first season to have two lesbian Housewives, but it's also nice to see these open conversations happening in the franchise, too.
We get some insight into the bond between Chevremont and Lyons in the exclusive look, adding to the background of both stories.
"I met Jenna in 2012, just as she was in the middle of a divorce and coming out, and I was doing the same. It almost validated what I was going through. I don't know what I would have done if I had not met someone else who was going through the exact same thing." Chevremont says.
Jenna Lyons added, "Neither one of us had ever been around anyone who was really gay. Like, we didn't have any gay friends."
It's also worth noting that, during an interview with Hoda & Jenna, Lyons said Chevremont being added to cast played a large part in her returning to show. "I was the only one who was openly gay so I found out that Raquel was going to be coming on. She's one of me, one of us. She's someone I've known for years and we have a very similar story and I think that gave me a lot more confidence and also felt like it would change the storyline a little bit I wasn't the only one so yeah decided to go back." said Lyons.
With Racquel Chevremont and Jenna Lyons leading this season of The Real Housewives of New York City , its set to make history and spark important conversations. Their shared experiences of navigating divorce and coming out as queer women add an new and inclusive depth to the housewives franchise like we have NEVER seen before.
