'RHONY' is giving us drag husbands and ballroom — and we’re living for it!

The Real Housewives of New York Citysaid “Let’s get gay,” and we are OBSESSED.

Racquel Chevremont and her partner Mel threw a vogue ballroom party this week at Le Louis in NYC, a speakeasy under the restaurant Reyna. And these ladies did NOT hold back. It's fabulous, it's death-dropping, it's the queer housewives experience we needed.

But the real jaw-dropper? Erin Lichy’s husband Abe showed up in FULL drag. Wig? Snatched. Face? Beat. Energy? Serving. This man said, “When in Rome,” and went all in. And honestly? He slayed.

Watching a straight husband lean into a fierce drag transformation without a second of hesitation was everything. Not only was there no hesitation, but when Lichy approached him about the drag idea, he said "I'll do it, but only if we do full glam. I'm not half-assing it."

We don’t always see this level of pure allyship from the RH husbands, and this was a breath of fresh air. This episode also comes after Abe had an incredibly honest confessional about exploring his sexuality and coming to terms with it. Abe has quickly become one of the most transparent and open husbands to grace our screens and A LOT of straight men can learn a lesson or two from him.

The party isn't just about the drama (though you know it had plenty of that) — it was a celebration of queer culture. From voguing battles to iconic NYC gay bars, it felt like a love letter to LGBTQ+ spaces and community. And to see all this representation on a platform as massive as RHONY? That’s the kind of visibility that makes a difference.

Raquel and Mel didn’t just throw a party, they gave us a moment. They brought ballroom culture to Bravo in a way that felt authentic, fun and powerful all at once. The best part? It didn’t feel performative. They are simply two queer women throwing an anniversary party to celebrate their love and the love from the LGBTQ+ community.

Here’s hoping this isn’t the last time we see the RHONY husbands ditching their ties for heels. Because Abe Lichy in drag? Iconic. And queer culture on Bravo? Absolutely EVERYTHING. And ALWAYS necessary.
