Season 16 of RuPaul’s Drag Race has queens from all over the country, proving that drag is truly taking over the mother-tuckin’ world. Thank gawd!
In an interview with Out, Vegas queen Mirage, Miami queen Morphine Love Dion, and Philly queen Sapphira Cristál talk about how prepared they feel to compete, and tease the drama we’re about to get on this new season of Drag Race.

Mirage is coming into Drag Race just one season after Anetra, a fellow Las Vegas queen who won over fans and finished as the runner-up of season 15. “The drag scene in Vegas right now is growing really, really, really fast… it’s exciting,” Mirage said. “It’s a good time to be a Vegas queen because I feel like Vegas is where it’s at right now.”

After Malaysia Babydoll Foxx became the first-ever Miami queen on Drag Race, season 16 is now featuring two entertainers representing the 305. Specifically, Morphine Love Dion is excited about the Latina representation on the show.
“We have five Latinas [in season 16],” Morphine explained. “And I consider Sapphira and Q also fellow Latinas by the way that they act. Yeah, there’s going to be some sickening drama this season!”

When it comes a seasoned queen like Sapphira Cristál, she’s honestly excited for all the challenges coming her way. “I, of course, was excited to do the Rusical. Or any challenge where I had to sing and use my voice, because it’s my prime talent,” Sapphira noted. “I was honestly excited about sewing challenges as well. I sew and have sewn for a long time.”
RuPaul’s Drag Race season 16 airs every Friday on MTV.
