The cast for The Last of Us season 2 is getting stacked!
The latest addition to the cast of season 2 of the hit sci-fi series is Isabela Merced, who has been cast as Dina, a young woman who becomes romantic partners with the main character, Ellie.
Dina and Ellie start out as friends in the video game The Last of Us Part II, with the bisexual Dina being in a relationship with a man named Jesse. However, at a dance their community is holding, the two kiss and decide to try dating.
Soon, the two characters are devoted partners, living on a farm and trying to start a life together. It is unknown how closely season two of the show will follow the plot of the video game, but we do know that the overall story of
The Last of Us Part II will not be covered in just one season.
Merced started her career as a child actress in the serial killer movie The House That Jack Built, before appearing in films like Transformers: The Last Knight, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, and Instant Family. In 2019, she starred as Dora the Explorer in the live-action film Dora and the Lost City of Gold.
She’s about to have a huge 2024, starring as Anya Corazon/Araña, one of the Spider-Women in the upcoming Sony superhero movie Madam Web, starring as Aza Holmes in the adaptation of John Green’s novel Turtles All the Way Down, and starring in Fede Álvarez’s upcoming Alien sequel along with Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, and Archie Renaux.
Along with The Last of Us season 2 in 2025, Merced has also been cast as Hawkgirl in James Gunn’s upcoming film Superman: Legacy.
Other actors who have joined the cast of The Last of Us season 2 include Kaitlyn Dever, who will play Abby, a young woman out for revenge, and Young Mazino, who will play Jesse, a member of the community where Dina and Ellie live and Dina’s ex.
The Last of Us season 2 is set to premiere in 2025.
