Patrick Schwarzenegger; Sam Nivola; Sarah Catherine Hook on The White Lotus season 3.
HBOEditor's note: This article contains spoilers for episode 7, titled "Killer Instincts," of The White Lotus season 3.
"Remember this: Every one of us has the capacity to kill" is the central theme of The White Lotus season 3 episode 7.
Siblings Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook) and Lochlan Ratliff (Sam Nivola) listen intently to the monk speak about the teachings of Buddhism, but the message feels more like an omen than a pearl of wisdom.
"Violence, aggression, anger stem from same source: fear."
He's right, of course, but this doesn't bode well for our cast of wealthy Thailand tourists and resort workers.
Our favorite characters are scattered all over Thailand during this seventh episode — so let's break this all down.
Sam Rockwell and Walton Goggins on The White Lotus season 3.
HBO
Rick (Walton Goggins) and Frank (Sam Rockwell) go undercover as filmmakers as they pay a visit to the Hollinger house. However, Rick's confrontation with the man he believes murdered his father ends flaccidly.

Piper and Lochlan spend the night at the Buddhist monastery — and just like their mother said, a monastery doesn't have the luxuries that they've been used to.
During their visit, Piper sneaks into Lochlan's room and thanks him for his company. He's grateful for the experience and to learn about the peaceful ways of Buddhism.
"I don't want to give in to my dark shit," Lochlan says ominously. "I don't want to make things worse."
Could that "dark shit" he's referring to be jerking off his brother in a threesome?
Oblivious, Piper says that she loves him and puts a hand on his knee. Lochlan reacts by announcing that he wants to join Piper and stay in Thailand.
"I don't feel like going home, like ever," Lochlan says. "I just think it'd be cool to be somewhere else. With you. Here."
Perhaps Lochlan's incest storyline with Saxon is clouding our judgment, because why does this interaction between Lochlan and Piper feel so weird?
Dear Lochlan: Therapy, now!
Jason Isaacs on The White Lotus season 3.
HBO
Timothy (Jason Isaacs), Victoria (Parker Posey), and Saxon Ratliff (Patrick Schwarzenegger) attend a party at Greg's — err, at Gary Hunt's (Jon Gries) — mansion in the hills.
At the party, Timothy is clearly unraveling, and Saxon can't do anything but watch.

Saxon is still sulking when he approaches Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) at the party, deciding to make an observation about the wealthy couples around him.
"These guys must know the only reason they have these hot girlfriends is because they're loaded," he moans.
Chelsea looks over, then back at Saxon, to utter the ultimate insult: "That's going to be you in 30 years."
Gag. "Why are you so mean to me?" Saxon asks.
Chelsea responds cooly. "I'm not trying to be mean. That's what you give off."
Ouch.

HBO
Chloe approaches Saxon with Gary's childhood trauma turned kinks: he wants to watch Saxon and Chloe have sex. "It will be like winning his mother back from his father!"
Chelsea chimes in, "Yeah! Like a little boy's dream!"
Saxon, disgusted, exits the party swiftly as well, walking with Chelsea back to the White Lotus resort. He seems to earnestly want to learn Chelsea's suggestion to bare his soul and engage with people vulnerably, but he quickly makes their room-time mediation sexual and Chelsea promptly kicks him out of her room.
Getting rejected over and over is probably not great for Saxon's ego.
Natasha Rothwell on The White Lotus season 3.
HBO
Belinda (Natasha Rothwell) and Zion Lindsey (Nicholas Duvernay) also attend Greg/Gary's party, and it doesn't take long for him to reveal his reasons behind inviting Belinda to the party.
Greg/Gary attempts to bribe Belinda with $100,000 to let him live the rest of his years in peace under the guise of, "It's what Tanya would've wanted." Unsettled, Belinda quickly ushers Zion out the door.
On the other hand, Zion urges Belinda to take the money by (*checks notes*) suggesting Greg will have them both killed if she doesn't. His character is obviously insane or only here to push the plot along, but we'll let it slide as long as he keeps his mother safe.
Michelle Monaghan, Leslie Bibb, and Carrie Coon on The White Lotus season 3.
HBO
Laurie (Carrie Coon) opts to go to the boxing match by herself — where she meets up with Valentin and his chaotic Russian pals.
At night, tensions are high between Laurie and her BBFs (frenemies?) Kate (Leslie Bibb) and Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan) as their confrontation escalates over dinner.
Lalisa Manobal and Tayme Thapthimthong on The White Lotus season 3.
HBO
Mook (Lalisa Manobal) and Gaitok's (Tayme Thapthimthong) date over dinner feels more like a scolding than a romantic connection.
Otherwise, Gaitok finally clocks into his brain when he puts two and two together: Valentin, along with two other men, are the masked thieves behind the gunpoint heist back in episode 2.
But what will Gaitok do with this information? We shall we.
The grand finale of The White Lotus season 3 is up next. From episode one's opening scene, we know there's a mass shooting on The White Lotus property in Thailand, and there's at least one body floating in the water.
But who will survive? Who bites the bullet? Who the hell is the shooter? And what if this death has nothing to do with the shots fired?
All will be revealed soon…
