It's almost time to go back to the wilderness.
Yellowjackets, Showtime's hit drama about a cannibalistic and murderous high school girls soccer team, is getting ready for season 3 with some all new images and insights from the show's co-creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson via Entertainment Weekly about what we can expect.
(Spoilers for Yellowjackets S2 ahead)
At the end of season 2, there were some huge changes, specifically, teen Natalie becoming the new Antler Queen and then adult Natalie dying, so, fans are wondering how the team will react to both big twists.
Lyle revealed that "there's a little bit of a time jump in both timelines" of the show, but based on the images, it does look like we'll get to see the adult survivors mourning their fallen friend.
We'll also find out how the teens are dealing with the fallout of their cabin burning down.
"I think that people will be surprised by their resourcefulness in the face of their continued survival," co-creator Bart Nickerson told the outlet.
"One thing that's always been important to us is that the timelines are really interconnected in terms of the characters and the totality of the characters and the consequences of what they went through didn't end in the past," Lyle added.
That will partially be shown in the conflict between teen Shauna, who thought she was going to be named the group's leader, and Natalie, who was chosen instead.
"What we see is a continuation of some of the tensions and resentments that were building in season 2," Lyle continued. "And those really play a large part in how the girls continue to interact this season."
Don't worry, Nickerson also says that there will definitely be some time spent this season exploring the relationships between adult Van and Taissa, who reunited last season.
"One of the things that we have always been trying to play with, but maybe this season even more so is that, as a result of a lot of their experiences, they've obviously put a lot of terrible stuff away, but they're also trying to recapture some of the best of themselves from that time, too. Some of that will be explored through that relationship," he said.
