After stalking our former cover boy Troye Sivan's amazing Instagram the other day, we felt the need to remind the world of the importance of nail polish on men.

In the past, we've seen nail polish on guys from Zac Efron to Seal to Jared Leto. Troye is just the latest pop star to rock fierce fingertips, and so can you. Here, we tell you how to get on board with the trend.

1. Two is Better Than One

The best at-home manicures include at least two coats of polish. If you've got some extra time, finish off with a clear varnish.

2. Let it Dry

Perhaps the most important piece of advice to novice nail artists is to remember is to allow ample time to dry. Most polishes need at least a half hour to dry, and to be safe we recommend waiting even longer. Watching an episode of Game of Thrones while painting your nails is a great strategy for flawfless fingers, because those babies are so damn long.

3. Clip it Short
