Ready to dive into the Halloween spirit?

There’s no better place to do it than New Orleans. Fortunately, you have the perfect reason to visit — Halloween New Orleans (HNO). This exciting weekend of festivities is packed with dance parties and costumes, all while supporting a worthy cause.

HNO started in 1983 as a dinner party to honor friends lost to AIDS. Over the past four decades, HNO has evolved into a three-day affair and is the largest cumulative donor to Project Lazarus, a New Orleans-based nonprofit that provides essential healthcare and support services to those living with HIV and AIDS. Join us for a spooky good while making a meaningful impact!

HNO ensures a safe, enjoyable experience with plenty of open bars and air-conditioned spaces. The summer-camp themed weekend kicks off on this Friday, October 18th with the famous Lazarus Ball at Gallier Hall — a black-tie optional event with music, campfire treats, and a silent auction featuring performances by the award-winning band, “The New Orleans Players.”

Saturday is the main event with a massive costume party at the Fillmore starring performances by Paul Lakeway and Out100 Honoree Ty Sunderland. Do not miss this chance to show off your most creative costumes while taking in the special midnight performance choreographed by Diogo De Lima. The best costumes will take home prizes!

Save some energy for Sunday as you’ll not want to miss the tea dance riverboat cruise. Climb on board the Steamboat Natchez for a few hours of fun in the sun (or private VIP lounge) while Joey with the Mustache spins exceptionally happy house and disco music. The day will culminate with a lively Second Line Parade through the French Quarter that will end at the historic Lafitte’s gay bar for a celebratory napkin toss.

“I’m beyond excited to return to New Orleans for my third year at HNO this weekend!” said Joey Goldman, aka Joey with the Mustache. “Our Sunday Riverboat party is sure to be the CAMPiest cruise on the Mississippi, where I’ll be spinning jazzy, fun house music with plenty of disco flair—and this time, my family’s along for the ride! Last year, for HNO XL, my mom, aunts, and cousin Supersized the magic on Sunday, and now my brother is joining the ranks of the Mustache clan at Camp HNO. We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone down by the river while supporting Project Lazarus and their incredible efforts to change lives in our community. It’s going to be an unforgettable weekend!”
