Out Astrology: A New Moon + Solar Eclipse on the Aries-Taurus Cusp

Once in a blue moon, even a New Moon can occur in the same sign twice! But this week’s New Moon in Aries isn’t a copy of last month’s. This time around, the New Moon is also a Solar Eclipse right on the cusp between Aries and Taurus.

If you thought that was a mouthful, mind you that Mercury will also be shifting into a fresh retrograde shortly thereafter.

New Moons are times for revisiting our goals and setting fresh intentions based on what we’ve learned since the last one. March’s New Moon was also in Aries on the Spring Equinox and opened the door to a new zodiacal year.

This New Moon is aligning directly with the Sun, resulting in a Solar Eclipse. While already an exciting celestial event, astrologically speaking, a Solar Eclipse serves to amplify the power of the New Moon and the sign it’s in.

Aries is the first sign and the fieriest of the fire signs. It’s all about initiative and initiation. Coupled with the intentional aspect of a New Moon, and doubled by the power of the Eclipse, this event is going to be the most powerful of the year in terms of fresh starts. However, given the imminent Taurus energy here, you might find that your reset is softened by a desire to indulge in life’s greatest pleasures.
