Mately would allow STD prevention to catch up with online hookup culture.
STD testing has taken a backseat for the generation who missed the HIV outbreak, but showed up right on time for online hookup culture. Although strides have been made for STD prevention and awareness, getting frequently tested is more important than ever. It's time for STD prevention to catch up with the immediacy of Grindr and Scruff.
One startup aims to do just that. Mately will allow users to submit small samples to its CLIA-certified lab as easily as one would find an afternoon quickie. The results are shared confidentially through its electronic network. It also allows members to share their results with each other. Although Mately is not a dating or hookup app, it would pair with such social networks as a resource for users to utilize.
Still in the early stages of its funding, Mately needs your help to get off the ground. Watch the clip below and donate at Indiegogo.
