Key ingredients to help you get the perfect tan

It's official: Spring is here! Now that you're starting to work on getting your beach body back, it's also time to prepare for the first sunrays.

Dangene Enterprise, facialist and owner of her eponymous institute in Manhattan, has treated A-list celebrities from L.A. to New York:

"The way your skin will react to the sun depends greatly on how well you conditioned it before the first exposure," she says. "I'm not a big product pusher; I'm more interested in ingredients".

Here, Dangene gives her best tips to help you prep against sunburns.

Zinc
"Start with a clear zinc treatment (Solar Sense Clear Zinc Body & Face Lotion; $10.99, 5 fl oz) from your local drugstore. Add it to your regular moisturizer or find a lotion that has 20% zinc in it. Lather your body with it two weeks before your trip to build up the surface of your skin."

Vitamins
"Adding vitamins A, C, D, and E to your diet will help keep skin cells at their highest level. Depending on whether you can have them or not, you can add the following foods to your diet:
Carrots, broccoli, and sweet potato (rich in vitamin A); peppers, guava, blackcurrant, kiwi, parsley, and oranges (vitamin C); fish, milk, and yogurt (vitamin D); almonds, hazelnut, sunflower oil, and avocado (vitamin E)."

Ginger and Cinnamon
"Drink a lot of ginger juice, which stimulates elastan and collagen production to help skin rejuvenation. Cinnamon is great for that, too."
