John Lennon's legacy reaches beyond the realm of music. By the late 1960s, the Beatles front man had become increasingly involved in the anti-Vietnam War movement. He penned the protest anthem "Give Peace a Chance" and confronted the Nixon administration head-on. After marrying Yoko Ono, he left Europe for New York and adopted a more down-to-earth style, swapping the suits of his Beatlemania years for denim and workwear and donning army shirts with his turtlenecks and iconic circular specs. Poet and style icon, Lennon defined a generation and never ceased to inspire.
