WATCH: Gay Makeup Artist Proposes to His Partner at San Diego Comic Con

Comic Con

He takes being surprised in front of thousands of strangers very well.

The "Everyone is at Comic Con except me" meme gets more and more relatable every year.

It's one thing to miss seeing your favorite stars from every corner of the entertainment industry, participating in panel Q&A's, and getting pictures with people who somehow find the time to pour 200 hours of work into a perfect cosplay ensemble. It's another thing completely to miss things like confessions of love in front of 7000 strangers.

Hall H in the San Diego Convention Center was lined with fans eager to hear about the web series, Con Man, starring Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk, about a show with a cult following that was taken off the air before it should have been (yes, that's a direct Firefly reference). One of the show's makeup artists, Barry Bishop, was unconventionally on stage with the cast and admitted that he had a surprise for his partner, Billy Brooks, who had joined him on stage.

"They were asking the cast a minute ago who was the most amazing person in Hollywood you've worked with," he said as he held his partner's hand, "and I just want to say Billy Brooks I love you baby with all my heart and soul and will you please marry me?"

The cast's reactions ranged from tickled to ecstatic, and the audience cheered the couple on the entire time. Watch the video below.
