Bowen Yang, Cynthia Nixon, Bianca Del Rio to Steal Sperm in New Comedy

Saturday Night Live cast member Bowen Yang has committed to star in a new six-part series entitled Hot White Heist from Audible in their collaboration with Broadway Video Enterprises. The actor-comedian joins an all-LGBTQ+ cast for the queer action comedy which follows a group of queers as they attempt to steal the government's supply of sperm. Bowen joins fellow out actors Cynthia Nixon, Margaret Cho, and others in the series written, created, and produced by Adam Goldman. Alan Cumming will direct and even make a voice cameo.

"It's been a very special honor to lead the cast of Hot White Heist and act alongside queer performers whom I've admired so much," Bowen said in a press release. "The series will be a funny, caper-y thrill to listen to when it debuts during Pride 2021. I'd like to take this opportunity to announce that I am gay!"

The premise of the series is an attempt by a group of contemporaries to steal the government's supply of sperm (described as the "stickiest heist in history"), which they intend to sell on the black market to fund the purchase of a new island paradise for queers. The show also stars Abbi Jacobson, Jane Lynch, Bianca Del Rio, Mj Rodriguez, Shannon Woodward, Stephanie Beatriz, John Cameron Mitchell, Cheyenne Jackson, Jonathan Bailey, Peppermint, Katya Zamolodchikova, and Tony Kushner. In addition to directing, Cumming will also produce via Club Cumming Productions.

"I have worked for Audible as a performer and writer many times, but I'm really excited to be making my directoral debtu with Hot Wite Heist, Adam Goldman's hillarious, witty, and biting script, and to be bringing together so many friends from my LGBTQ+ family to be in it!" Cumming said in a release.

Goldman, a former Out100 honoree, is a gem of a writer, likely most known for his web series The Outs that he wrote, directed, and starred in.

"This cast is absolutely bonkers, wall-to-wall queer magnificence," Goldman wrote to Twitter of the news. "A dream come true. You're gonna flip. Deities tbh. Audible AND Broadway Video - guys they made CONEHEADS. That's not shade I genuinely love Coneheads."

Yang has made a name for himself recently with his hilarious performances on SNL. He appeared in and co-wrote the Harry Styles' Sara Lee skit, helped write the gay porn skit featuring Emma Stone, and famously played Dan Levy's gay lover in the Zillow advertisement skit.

Hot White Heist is slated to premiere June 17 on Audible, an Amazon.com subsidiary, joining their current audible library of over 600,000 titles. Broadway Video was founded in 1979 by SNL creator Lorne Micheals, and has produced such hits as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Wayne's World, and Mean Girls among other television and film hits.
