Well, that was fast.

Friday was a big day for Don Lemon. Ahead of the airing of his show CNN Tonight With Don Lemon, he uploaded a video to social media, teasing that he had a big announcement that would signal the "end of an era." When he got on air, ahead of airing re-airing his special What's Going On: Marvin Gaye's Anthem for the Ages, he announced that he would be ending CNN Tonight.

"This is the last night that will be CNN Tonight with Don Lemon," he said. "So, I appreciate all the years of CNN Tonight With Don Lemon, but changes are coming, and I will fill you in."

He later clarified that he would not be leaving CNN and encouraged viewers to tune in on Monday, during his regular slot to find what was next. Well, it looks like he couldn't wait until Monday.

"Didn't mean to set the internet on fire," he wrote to Instagram in a post Saturday morning. "What I said last night was true. CNN Tonight with Don Lemon is no more. I'll be back on Monday with my newly named show Don Lemon Tonight. See you Monday at 10pE." Well, much ado about nothing.

The show will occupy the exact same slot as CNN Tonight, meaning that will likely be dropped from programming instead of having someone else step in. That show has been revived multiple times over the years with a variety of hosts.

In addition to Don Lemon Tonight, Lemon has his new podcast with Chris Cuomo titled The Handoff.
