Ronnie Wilson captured America’s heart during Season 25 of
NBC’s hit reality competition show, ‘The Voice.’ Now, the rising star is opening up about his career and complex dating life on the latest episode of ‘Hella Single’ podcast. The Atlanta-based church singer turned recording artist is sharing insights into his love life, alongside the success of his acclaimed singles, “Every Time You Touch Me” and “You Save Me.” Drawing from his experiences, the crooner is currently putting the finishing touches on his debut EP, titled ‘My Heart’ which is set for release in Spring 2025.
Since his appearance on ‘The Voice,’ Ronnie has graced the stages of events like Famously Hot South Carolina Pride, Atlanta Black Global Pride, and even had the opportunity to perform for music superstar, Tamar Braxton. His rising star power has led some former suitors to reemerge in his life. Reflecting on the attention he’s received post-’The Voice,’ he shared, “It’s been interesting. I’ll say there are some people in my past who either curved me or ghosted me. Whatever the case may be, they saw me on the show and then, like, oh, hey! If you didn’t want me, then please don’t try to circle back now.”
Dating in a city like Atlanta comes with its own unique challenges. Ronnie has navigated the murky waters of Atlanta's dating scene with a healthy dose of skepticism. “I mean, just be smart and trust your gut and verify everything. Don't believe what they tell you. I just don't believe everything that comes out of their mouths because people will lie,” he advised. Regarding meeting new people, Ronnie has decided to uninstall all of his dating apps. “I tried. I was on dating apps, all the things. I was actively trying to date and deleted them because nothing was happening. I was on Tinder, Hinge, and Raya.”
With similar schedules and interests, it’s no surprise that two artists might find themselves romantically linked. When asked if he would be open to dating another singer, he said, “I want a singing household. If you play the guitar, like some type of musical household is what I've always wanted to have. It's not necessary, but if you’re a musician, you get extra points in my book.”
When asked about the pressure of musical expectations following his time on ‘The Voice’, he shared, “I don't feel any pressure. I just feel blessed, honestly. I tell anybody, I have lived my entire life for this moment. And so now to finally have it, I'm just glad that people want to hear me, honestly.”
