The latest Carrie trailer flaunts telekinetic effects, an unconvincing voiceover, and Julianne Moore singing (best part, obvs). The remake of Stephen King's classic horror tale stars Chloe Grace Morretz as the superhuman leading lady. Though Morretz might lack the more alien look of a young Sissy Spacek who rocked Carrie back in '76, we still have faith she'll add a fresh voice to the role. And with Moore as Carrie's religious fanatic mother, we're confident the movie will have something good going for it. Watch the trailer below and read what Out's editors and contributors thought, then let us know your own knee-jerk critique.
Julien Sauvalle: "I'm so over the Sex & the City franchise."
Jerry Portwood: "Wait! I thought this was gonna be a musical. It's not a musical? Oh, well."
Samantha Henderson: "I still don't understand why no one else at my high school wanted our prom theme to be Carrie."
Alex Panisch: "'Go to your closet and pray' is the new 'sashay away.'"
Regan Hofmann: "Do her powers turn her hair that tomato-soup color? Or is that part of Julianne Moore's plan to keep the boys away?"
Jesse Steinbach: "What's with the 'Call Carrie' at the end? I haven't gotten a girl's phone number since high school. Even if she's cray, I'm flattered."
Greg Garry: "Zzzzz. Movie karaoke. I'm sick of the cut-copy-paste generation--lazy fuckers."
