A behind-the-scenes clip of The Danish Girl examines Redmayne’s movements on screen.
The Danish Girl, which will be available on Blu-Ray and DVD on March 1, has garnered tremendous critical success (it's currently nominated for four Oscars). But of course, any period piece--nonetheless one about a trans pioneer--requires an exceptional amount of dedication from its actors.
Eddie Redmayne, in particular, went to great lengths to capture Lili Elbe's distinctive movements on camera. He was able to embody Elbe so gracefully that his co-star Alicia Vikander was mesmerized by his performance. "I could just lose myself in getting to know Lili," she says.
