We've got a pair of bodaciously dangerous blondes set to wreak havoc in two highly anticipated summer movies. Giddy up!
First, we've got a bloody good looking Hollywood horror-satire, The Neon Demon.
Maleficent's Elle Fanning is all grown up and bringing us style, sex, some blood--and did we say style?--in The Neon Demon, the next morsel from Nicolas Winding Refn. Refn is the celebrated director of the much-lauded Ryan Gosling vehicle Drive from 2011.
The trailer looks sleek and cool with an unmistakable European edge. The story seems to take on the cliched struggles of an aspiring model in Hollywood who will stop at nothing to get to the top. The Neon Demon features Mad Men's Christina Hendricks and Sense8's Jamie Clayton.
Curiously, we're loving the still images for this one on IMDb even more than the trailer itself.
Next up: The Shallows, AKA Gossip Girl vs. Jaws.
Just when you thought it was safe to forget The Age of Adaline, Blake Lively is back! In the second trailer for the shark movie The Shallows, the watertight plot is further revealed, proving that sometimes the most compelling things are often the most simple: a surfer is stranded on a teeny rock a healthy swim away from shore, and the only problem is, there is a big-ass shark in the water.
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra of the popular horror treat Orphan, the new trailer looks just as sleek as Neon Demon, but in an altogether different--yet still satisfying--way.
The Neon Demon hits theaters on June 24, 2016. The Shallows comes out one hot week later.
