No, this is not a prequel to Quentin Tarantino's Hateful Eight.
Westerns--the Hollywood genre that was so popular in the '50s and '60s--featured gun-toting outlaws and revenge-ridden lawmen in nearly ever one of its films. One of those movies, The Magnificent Seven (1960), is the latest classic to be getting the Hollywood reboot treatment.
Director Antoine Fuqua, responsible for Training Day, unites Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke with some younger actors, among them...Chris Pratt. But we only have eyes for scene stealer Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, a Mexican actor who plays the outlaw character. What a smile in a sea of brooding faces.
The Magnificent Seven hits theaters September 23. Watch the trailer below:
