Danny Boyle and Original Cast Return for Trainspotting Sequel

Get ready for another blast from the past (the past being 1996 in this case). 20 years after the original, the highly anticipated sequel of Trainspotting is almost here. The original cast have returned along with original director, Danny Boyle to direct a script by the original's screenwriter, John Hodge.

But Boyle promised the Hollywood Reporter that the sequel will be worth the wait:

"The actors were understandably worried about its reputation and not wanting to let people down or to just be cashing in. So actually the script ... has been put under a very fierce spotlight by everyone, and it's a good one."

The film takes place 10 years after the original and is based on author Irvine Welsh's Trainspotting sequel, Porno. T2: Trainspotting is set to premiere February 3, 2017.
