Cynthia Nixon visits 19^th century New England in her latest role. The Sex and the City actress plays renowned American poet Emily Dickinson in A Quiet Passion. The film follows the writer's life from her early years in school until her later reclusive days.

Written and directed by Terence Davies, A Quiet Passion also stars Emma Bell, Jennifer Ehle, Duncan Duff, and Keith Carradine. The film premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and will screen at the Toronto Film Festival.
