Beyoncé Might Star in the Live Action Lion King Movie
Rumors are circulating that she could take on the role of Nala.
Rumors are swirling that Beyonce is in talks to star as Nala in the upcoming live action version of The Lion King. The movie is directed by Jon Favreau (directorial credits: Iron Man and The Jungle Book) and coming out in 2019.
According to Idolator, Beyonce is asking $25 million for the project, which she's in talks for just weeks after giving birth to her baby twins Rumi and Sir. Here's the tweet from The Beyhive that set all these rumors alight:
The casting would reportedly also include curatorial, production, and contributing duties to the soundtrack, which will likely include several new Africa-inspired songs in addition to the originals we know and love. Beyonce would join an all-star cast that's already blown our mind: Donald Glover as Simba, Billy Eichner as Timon, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, and John Oliver as Zazu.
Yonce has been quite busy since pushing out twins--check out her baby announcement photoshoot in a look by queer designer Palomo Spain, here.
