Taron Egerton Recreates Elton John’s Iconic Looks in First Rocketman Teaser

In case you were wondering where all the sequins the world went, look no further than the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Elton John biopic, Rocketman.

Last week we got our first glimpse of Taron Egerton of Kingsman fame decked out in his 70s best emulating the iconic John and now we get to see him in action in all his scintillating glory. The minute-long teaser flashes through John's rise to fame, his struggles with addiction, and his monumental success with Egerton's rendition of "Rocketman" playing along.

The trailer also teases the format of the film, bringing to life the otherworldly feelings John has felt while on stage. His audience begins as a raucous crowd and slowly freezes before becoming weightless. Though he's the last to go, John is eventually pulled skyward by his feet. Could this be how John feels when he performs? Or was it one of the more vivid drug-addled fantasies he lived through? We'll find out when the film releases next May. Watch, below.
