Frozen 2 Director Hasn't Ruled Out a Female Love Interest for Elsa
Let it go and give the Snow Queen a girlfriend!
With LGBT representation in Disney films at an all-time high -- thanks to the apparent lesbian couple in Finding Dory and LeFou's happy ending in the live action Beauty and the Beast -- Frozen fans are holding out hope that the almost canonically gay Elsa will be given a female love interest in Frozen 2. According to writer and co-director Jennifer Lee hasn't ruled it out.

While promoting A Wrinkle in Time, which she adapted, Lee (sort of) answered our burning gay queries about the possibility of Elsa getting a girlfriend in Frozen 2.
"I love everything people are saying [and] people are thinking about with our film -- that it's creating dialogue, that Elsa is this wonderful character that speaks to so many people," Lee said. "It means the world to us that we're part of these conversations."
"Where we're going with it, we have tons of conversations about it, and we're really conscientious about these things," she continued. "For me ... Elsa's every day telling me where she needs to go, and she'll continue to tell us. I always write from character-out, and where Elsa is and what Elsa's doing in her life, she's telling me every day. We'll see where we go." Hopefully what Elsa's doing with her life is finding a cute princess of her own.
