The lives of four trans service members are chronicled in the well-received film.
Audiences and critics seem to be in agreement about the merit of the documentary TransMilitary. After premiering at SXSW it was awarded with the Audience Award in the Documentary Feature Competition category.

"TransMilitary is a powerful and eye-opening film that audiences clearly want to see more of," said GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis, who served as an executive producer on the film. "The compelling storytelling and inspiring individuals in the film will open hearts and minds and put relatable faces to one of the most talked about issues in mainstream news today."

TransMilitary is the first feature length film to receive funding from the GLAAD Media Institute and follows four transgender members of the American military as they serve and speak out against a trans military ban.
