The film's first trailer gives a glimpse into the the art world of early 1980s New York.

The new documentary Boom For Real: The Late Teenage Years of Jean-Michele Basquiat follows the legendary queer artist as he honed his point of view in the early 1980s. Through never-before-seen work, videos, photographs and interviews, director Sara Driver paints an intimate portrait of a pre-fame Basquiat. Driver -- who was part of the scene Basquiat helped shape -- worked with artists Jim Jarmusch, James Nares, Fab Five Freddy, Glenn O'Brien, Kenny Scharf, Lee Quinones, Patricia Field, Luc Sante to take audiences inside Basquiat's world.
