Here's the First Trailer for Barry Jenkins' If Beale Street Could Talk
The first trailer for If Beale Street Could Talk, Oscar-winner Barry Jenkins' follow up to 2016's Moonlight, is finally here--and it looks to be just as magnificent as his previous film.
Jenkins adapted Beale Street from the James Baldwin novel of the same name, and its subject matter feels highly topical in today's climate: a young couple, Tish and Fonny, are driven apart when Fonny is falsely accused of raping a woman and imprisoned. Tish must race to find evidence to exonerate her lover when she discovers she's pregnant.

The film stars Kiki Layne and Stephan James, with a supporting cast including Teyonah Parris, Regina King, and Brian Tyree Henry. Jenkins reunites with Moonlight's editors, cinematographer, and composer for the film. Beale Street will be released this fall via Annapurna Pictures.
