A song of summer for the cuffing season.
LZ7's a tough band to get a handle on. They're genre bending--hip-hop/EDM/pop--brandish a heavy Christian bent, and are fronted by the charismatic yet enigmatic, Lindz West. I approached with caution, and I was pleasantly surprised.
But any reservations I had about the group dissipated when I heard Gordon John's remix of "So Good." Upbeat, slick, and unseasonably summery, it's the track is undeniably infectious and a refreshing blast of warmth as we continue our march in Winter. "So Good" drops December 11 and that's a bit too far away for my tastes.
Gordon John's remix has a driving throwback beat powering it along from start to finish and layers of synthy goodness, with the odd airy, ambient turn. A pure dance track through and through, it's just the thing to cast out the season's gloom and stir you out of the pumpkin spice coma.
