Let this entertain you while we wait patiently for their third album release I See You on January 13.
The xx dropped the first music video off of their third studio release I See You on Monday for their single "On Hold," and it's serving us hometown, nostalgic vibes.
The video, shot in the iconic Marfa, Texas, is directed by the one and only Alasdair McLellan, perhaps known best to the queer community for his "The Perfect Kiss" photo series.
The band, comprised of vocalists Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim and famed producer Jamie xx, called their chosen location of Marfa "a very special place to us, where we wrote and recorded some of our new album," and chose McLellan as someone "whose work we all adore."
Although the video's romance occurs between a high school cheerleader and a football star, both of the band's openly gay members, Croft and Sim, appear to be singing to some far-off love interests.
