It’s a perfect early addition to the summer playlist.

Remember when Penn Badgley stole all our hearts as everyone's favorite Brooklyn boy in Gossip Girl? Or how about that time he was Jesse Metcalfe's cute younger brother in John Tucker Must Die? Or when he was Emma Stone's knight in shining armor in Easy A?

Well he's now living up to the Humphrey name, trading in his St. Jude's uniform for a guitar and microphone. His band, MOTHXR, just released their debut album, Centerfold.

Each track exudes an infectious rhythm and an undeniable sex appeal. Badgley's voice complements the sound with a seductive quality. Even in the chilliest of late February, Centerfold leaves us in heat just as the title suggests. It's a perfect early addition to the summer playlist.

"We're making something artful and we want people to receive it however they want to enjoy it," Badgley said on Huffington Post Live. "It's like indie rock with an R&B influence and a new wave feel--with a lot of electronic synth."

MOTHXR kicks off their European tour next month and will return stateside for their U.S. tour in April and May. Centerfold is now available on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify.
