A charity concert of his best hits was also held in London.
This Sunday, January 8 would have been David Bowie's 70th birthday. The iconic performer died one year ago tomorrow of cancer, leaving a legacy of art and music in his wake.
According to The Guardian, charity concert was held yesterday at Brixton Academy in London to celebrate Bowie's birthday. Duran Duran's Simon Le Bon, Def Leppard's Joe Elliott, and La Roux performed some of his greatest hits.
An EP was also released with recordings that were believed to be his last. "Lazarus" from Bowie's final album, Blackstar is featured along with "No Plan", "Killing a Little Time", and "When I Met You", songs that were written for the musical, Lazarus. A video for "No Plan" was also recently released.
