The Tales of Us singer is up to something.

After a series of mysterious Instagram teasers posted in December, Goldfrapp has finally blessed us with a short video and snippet of new music. Intertwined in a barren desert, the clip shows two naked blond figures laying in the sand with hands blacked out in paint. Albeit short, the first taste of audio suggests that #goldfrapp7 may return to the synthetic sound that wasn't present on her last album, Tales of Us.

Of her 2013 LP, Alison Goldfrapp told Idolator that, "We've always had these two worlds that exist alongside each other--the sort of more pastoral, orchestral sound and then this much harder, synthetic sound. I love both, but I'd say I think this more acoustic, simple sound is where my heart is at. All the artists that I really love and listen to all the time and always go back to are of that ilk. That's what I feel really passionate about."

But if the Instagram teaser's new audio is any preview of what's to come from Goldfrapp, that "harder, synthetic sound" may be where her heart is at once again. Nothing is official regarding Goldfrapp's 7th album, but you can stoke your excitement with the clip, below.
