Unsung queer icon Cardi B released today her sophomore mixtape, Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 2, which sees the 24-year-old Love & Hip Hop: New York Insta-lebrity rhyming about sexuality, fearlessness and, of course, haters. "My music is for the bitches that got anger in their heart," she told Complex. "Cause every bitch got motherfucking, goddamn anger in their heart."
The tenacious 10-track project follows Cardi B's debut mixtape, Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 2, and features names like Josh X, Casanova, DJ Hardwerk, Just Vlad, Konshens and Hoodcelebrityy. On opener "Bronx Season," the fierce emcee spits violently about her New York hometown and on GBMV2's closer, "Pop Off," Cardi B threatens war on anyone "talking shit."
For the mixtape's cover art--heavy emphasis on "art"--Cardi B shows off her fancy footwork, while simultaneously being fed grapes by a shirtless tattooed man. She notably wears a lace-up denim outfit from rising Berlin-based label, Namilia, and looks slyly at the camera, well-aware of our inevitable jealousy.
"I did not grow up with money," she told Complex. "However, I grew up popping off, I grew up in the hood, I grew up with bitches that like to fight. And that's what my music is about."
