Barry Jenkins, who's best known for directing the Oscar-winning film Moonlight, has released an entire album of Grizzly Bear remixes. In collaboration with DJ Candlestick (of The Chopstars), Jenkins chopped and screwed tracks off 2009's Veckatimest and 2017's Painted Ruins.

Grizzly frontman Ed Drsote, who's a self-declared Moonlight fan, tweeted in response: "Can't believe the director of my favorite movie last year Moonlight did a full on chopnotslop remix of both Veck and Painted Ruins!!!" Jenkins hit back, telling Droste: "Yr music means the world to me."
This collection follows The Chopstars' woozy, slowed remix of the Moonlight soundtrack, which Jenkins told Pitchforkreflects the film's yearning. "There's this idea, especially in the story, of Black trying to project this idea of masculinity," he said. "But as his life slows down you get to see that he's just sitting there. When he actually talks to someone, he can't hide all this shit that's very deep down.
