The rapper's explosive new single features Princess Precious Ebony & Shauna Brooks.
Rapper Prince Airick returns today with "Act Up," a fiery tribute to underground ballroom culture, featuring legendary Qween Beat commentator Princess Precious Ebony and transgender actress Shauna Brooks (famous for her Botched appearance).
The track is lifted off Airick's forthcoming EP, Diplomatic Duty, and is produced by Italian beatmaker Unusual Magic, who included samples from "Work This Pussy" by the House of Aviance.
Cocky and self-assured, Airick teases his haters on the chorus: "They wanna see me act up/ They wanna see a mothafucka act up." The pounding instrumental is high-energy, with ear-shattering explosions going off beneath Airick's wildly unstoppable flow.
"'Act Up' is inspired by today's social climate," Airick told OUT. "Whether you're black, gay, trans, or simply different from what society perpetuates as the norm, the daily struggle of trying to be yourself ignites a fire that makes you want to ''Act Up.'"
Airick's new song follows the release of his "Go Awf!" music video, which spawned the internationally viral #GoAwfChallenge and proved the young artist's staying power.
