Sang entirely in the dark, no less.
While we wait not-so-patiently for new material from queer singer/songwriter Shamir Bailey, the artist has been appeasing our unrest with a series of brief Instagram clips where he croons covers completely in the dark. He's taken on Julia Michaels' "Issues" and Ariana Grande's "Honeymoon Avenue," but now Bailey's tackled "Green Light" from our Lorde and Savior.

"Those Great Whites, they have big teeth," he sings gently with that uniquely high, fluttering tenor. Set against a sparse acoustic guitar, Lorde's Jack Antonoff-produced single takes on newfound innocence and vulnerability. "Honey I'll come get my things, but I can't let go," Bailey coos, closing the short video.

Bailey released his debut full-length album Ratchet in 2015 via XL, which included his viral buzz track, "On The Regular." Since there's currently no clear release date for sophomore material, we'll have to keep checking back to his Instagram for more queer singer/songwriter versions of our favorite pop singles. Watch, below.
