The repeat button has barely cooled from our non-stop listening parties of Charli XCX's new mixtape Number 1 Angel, but she's already returned with a one-off single with British producer Mura Masa. The tropical collaboration, "1 Night," is packed with tropical steel drums and bongos, as Charli's metallic-sounding vocals soar above the summery instrumental. Along with the single, the two released this week a new music video, directed by Yoni Lappin, which stars various couples in the same apartment complex and Charli dancing in a gymnasium.

In an interview with BBC, Masa spoke on the collaboration with Charli XCX: "I think I just had that beat lying around for a while and we sent it to a couple of people. Then Charli just did her thing," the British producer said. "I think with a song like that and with someone like Charli, it was important to me not to make just another pop song. It had to be a little bit more interesting. I think hopefully this achieves a little bit of both worlds, like something from her world and something from my world."
