Our favorite open-ended pop star Allie X has been slowly exposing her complex psyche, as she releases songs off her sophomore album, CollXtion II, due out June 9. The forthcoming LP is promised to give deeper insight into the Canadian songstress' identity, which has been largely undefined since the beginning her career, much like the variable, "X."
On "Paper Love," Allie X is fragile, but fanatic--masochistically diving into love she knows will ultimately damage her. With "Need You," the singer attempts to convince herself she's strong, repeating the phrase, "I don't need you anymore," like a mantra until the lie becomes true. Allie X is joined on the song by Valley Girl, who previously covered Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home" and released a self-titled EP in 2015.
Fall into Allie X's slinky, emotional "Need You," below.
