In a post-Emotion world, we've come to know Carly Rae Jepsen as an unwavering source of strength--one of the few constants we can lean on in a dark age drenched with ominous unknowns. Her latest single, "Cut to the Feeling," is perhaps Jepsen's most arresting work to date, with a sledgehammer chorus that launches you into a utopia unscathed by toxic human touch.
The only problem is that it's only three minutes and 28 seconds long--just enough time to cause severe brain damage from the inevitable head thrashing that ensues, but simply not enough time for a song that feels this good.
Thankfully, a savior by the name of DJ De has delivered us an extended edit, stretching Jepsen's cathartic, purifying vocals to seven much-needed minutes. Consider this her magnum opus, and selfishly bathe yourself in the looped line, "I wanna dance on the roof," because it's the only thing we know to be true.
