Lorde just released not one, not two, but six new videos today--and they're reworked, stripped-down versions of some of our Melodrama faves. If ever there was a time we needed to feel like we were hearing this album again for the first time, it's now.
The songs she's given the acoustic treatment to are "Hard Feelings/ Loveless," "Writer In The Dark," "Sober," "Supercut," "The Louvre," and "Homemade Dynamite." Each version is altered from the original in subtle, minimal ways that still feel like the songs you've carved into your mind these past few months. Many feature a choir of young women, as well as brass instruments and strings.
All of the videos take place in an intimate, candle-lit studio--all but one, that is: "Hard Feelings/ Loveless" sees Lorde take her choir girls out on a rooftop to dance to a boombox. Jack Antonoff also makes an appearance on the piano in "Writer In The Dark."
