Chicago-based drag queen Soju, who hosts YouTube's must-watch Shot with Soju talk show, has released her debut K-pop single, "So Juicy," produced by Catherine Yang. "Suga baby, let me see/ How you move when you're tipsy," Soju sings above an ultra-cute, glittery instrumental. And while the track is playful and tongue-in-cheek, it also serves a larger purpose within the LGBTQ community.
"There's been such great progress in mainstream acceptance of drag queens lately, and I want to use my platform to bring greater visibility for Asian Americans in the drag community, as well as for drag and LGBTQ culture in the Korean community," Soju says. "This song marries the two things I love most: drag and K-pop."
Shot with Soju has previously featured a strong lineup of Drag Race stars across all seasons, including Chicago's own Shea Coulee, Sasha Velour, Aja and Milk. Click here to watch drag's unofficial emcee, and stream Soju's juicy foray into pop music, below (you'll be chanting, "So Juicy," all week).
