Ariana Grande’s ‘Thank U, Next’ Video Is Gay Rights
The gay event of the year…maybe the century.
With the amount of preview material Ariana Grande released over the past few weeks, I went into Friday feeling like I'd already seen the "thank u, next" video and that the result would inevitably be anticlimactic. Also, let's be real, Ariana isn't really a video queen. She's a Twitter gay with the voice of an angel and a catalogue of bops, and that's why we love her. But the "thank u, next" video somehow became the gay event of the year -- watching the countdown, I kept expecting the internet to just...crash. It didn't, and now the video is finally here.
Directed by Hannah Lux Davis, the video -- as we've know for what feels like years -- casts Ariana in literally every romcom. This video is an absolute masterpiece if for no reason other than casting Kris Jenner as Regina George's mom and Ariana confirming that Pete Davidson is hung. We will stan forever.
