Dissatisfied with her title as patron saint of indie-pop sad girls everywhere, Lana Del Rey has set her sights on conquering a new genre: country. During Jack Antonoff's Ally Coalition Talent Show in New York on Wednesday, Del Rey took the stage with Antonoff to play some of the songs they've written together for her new album, including a few folksy numbers that didn't make the cut.
Uproxx reports that fans in attendance quoted Del Rey as saying she and Antonoff "made a couple of country songs just for fun," but that the songs will "most likely not be on the new record."
Del Rey also played tracks that will be on her upcoming record, including the already-iconic "Venice Bitch."
Antonoff produced "Venice Bitch" and "Mariners Apartment Complex," the two songs Del Rey has released from her upcoming album, Norman Fucking Rockwell. On Wednesday, MTV UK reported the album is due out March 29, 2019 -- that is, unless she and Azealia Banks have their big showdown before then.
